LG Optimus 2X Deals

Finding LG Optimus 2X deals that suit you is not as hard as you might think, thanks to the fact that there are so many excellent deals around.  No matter your budget, you’ll likely find a deal that is both affordable and suits your needs.  These handsets are usually available on various different networks, so shopping around will find you a real bargain.  In addition, opting for a monthly contract will generally allow you to receive the handset for free.

If you are looking for an 18 month contract, at the time of writing there is a deal with 3 which gives you 600 minutes and unlimited text messages.  LG Optimus 2X deals such as this are perfect for younger people who tend to spend a lot of time texting to catch up with their friends.  This will set you back around £30 per month, but if you want to pay a little less each month there is also a £25 per month offer with the same provider that gives you 600 call minutes each month with unlimited text messages.

Mobile phone deals with unlimited texts are ideal for those who need to spend a lot of time keeping in touch, but there are deals that offer fewer free text messages and will therefore cost you less each month.  These might be worth considering for someone whose mobile phone usage is much lighter.

Mobile Phone Reviews – LG Optimus Black

All mobile phone reviews suggest that the LG Optimus Black is a mid-range smartphone with sleek modern looks and decent performance.  It meets users’ needs for communication, browsing and access to social networks at a good price for a device of this type.

The phone has an interesting design that is eye-catching, but also practical.  Its rounded corners on the bottom and top give the LG Optimus Black a modern look.  Its dimensions of 109 x 54.4 x 12.9mm and weight of 115.5 grams mean the handset fits nicely into the hand for easy use.

Under the display controls are allocated to the “Menu” and “Back” buttons and below them are buttons for starting and terminating calls, and the “Home” button.  On the left side of the phone are buttons that control the volume, and on the right side are buttons that activate the camera, browser and microUSB port.

The screen on the LG OPtimus Black is three inches (7.6 cm) with a HVGA resolution of 320 x 480 pixels.  Mobile phone reviews report that the screen is clear, but difficult to read when exposed to sunlight.  Another plus for the LG Optimus Black, according to LG Optimus Black reviews, is that the display shows excellent colour reproduction.

The LG Optimus Black is the ideal choice for smart phone beginners because it contains all of the features of a smartphone and is not complicated to use.  The device is designed for users who do not have much experience with smartphones and do not want the headaches of learning how to use smartphones.

LG Pop Overview

If you are looking for an inexpensive mobile phone, the LG Pop is a good option.  It is also a good option if you are looking for a serviceable phone with a camera and music device, but do not need the speed of Wi-Fi or 3G network for browsing.

The handset is small, lightweight, and has a 3-inch touch screen.  A single front button performs several functions, depending on which direction it is pushed.  The camera and volume controls are on side buttons.

This mobile phone was designed to be environmentally conscious, using recyclable and nonhazardous materials.  It even lets you know when your battery is full, so you don’t use extra electricity charging it.  The normal drag-and-drop and swipe options on the touch screen work well.  The intuitive typing option is nice, predicting what word you are typing to save keystrokes.

The keyboard is comparable to other virtual landscape keyboards, though definitely not as user- friendly as a full QWERTY.

Call quality is very good; the keypad for dialling numbers is large and easy to use.

The camera is 3 megapixels.  On video playback, you have the option to stop an image and make a jpeg of it.  Video is QVGA quality at 320 x 240 megapixels.

Memory options offer up to 8 GB external memory for extra storage and the music player is good.  Downloads from your PC can be done with USB or the LG program.

Several companies offer a free handset and 15 pounds per month, with contract.

LG Optimus 7 Review

The LG Optimus 7 is a Windows Phone 7 handset.  It appears very similar to other LG phones, but has a good-looking metal back piece and very nice camera plate.  The LG Optimus 7 has a massive 16GB of memory, though there is no way of adding extra storage.  For anyone wanting to store lots of apps, media and documents, this model offers the biggest memory of all Windows Phone 7 handsets currently available.  There is also a 5-megapixel camera, if you enjoy taking lots of photos.

For LG Optimus 7 deals try Vodafone’s £30 per month 24-month contract, which offers a free handset, 900 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB internet connection.

The LG Optimus 7 offers the facility to stream media content stored on the phone to a TV, stereo, Xbox 360 or PC, as long as the devices are connected to a Wi-Fi network.  The handset is quite bulky, but still sleek, while the screen is very responsive and web browsing quite fast.

The build quality is not as good as equivalent HTC models and the buttons feel cheap and wobbly.  The camera’s LED flash is not particularly good and photo quality is average, although the panorama feature is a bonus.  The LG app store does not have many apps yet, but the user interface is simple and attractive and the on-screen keyboard is good.

To summarise, the HTC HD7 is slightly more responsive than the LG Optimus 7, which has a slightly smaller screen, but is also cheaper.  The LG apps are not very good, but the interface is fast and easy to use.

LG Renoir KC910 Review

The LG Renoir KC910 is one of the LG mobile phone range and has a wealth of features that will keep both experienced smartphone users and newcomers happy.

The addition of an eight megapixel camera has made this one of the highest spec cameras on a mobile phone.  It has a lens cover and a shutter key and the user is guaranteed good quality images.

The internet can be accessed using either Wi-Fi or HSDPA and there is in-built GPS for finding your way around.  Apps can be easily accessed through the home screen and there is a music player built-in.  There is no headphone jack so an adaptor is required, and images and videos can be easily viewed on the screen, although not all video types are supported.

The LG Renoir KC910 is one of a number of contract mobile phones that can be obtained free of charge from a mobile service provider.  By agreeing to a fixed term contract you are able to get a handset, free call minutes and text messages (different limits apply on different tariffs) and you just pay a monthly charge.

The monthly charge will vary according to the length of contract that you have agreed to and also the service provider.  Shop around and compare mobile phones and their deals before you commit to using one particular phone.  Once you have a contract they can be difficult to terminate so you need to make sure that you select the best one for your needs.

LG Cookie Style Review

One of the LG mobile phones which are aimed at the teenage market, the LG Cookie Style has been designed with curved edges and comes in a wide range of colours.  It has a 2.8 inch touch screen and the home screen gives shortcuts to social networking sites and other applications.

The phone is also equipped with a built-in music player and an FM radio.  There is some storage capacity on the phone but this can be dramatically improved with the addition of a micro SD memory card.  This will hold both music files and videos.

The LG Cookie Style is due to be launched in September 2010 and is expected to be very popular with younger people.  Mobile phone deals on this handset can be found by doing a search of the internet.  Mobile service providers will provide contract mobile phones free of charge if the user agrees to a fixed term contract.  This could be for a period of between 12 months and 2 years and will incur a monthly charge.

The tariffs that are applied will vary according to the type of phone and the contract length and different providers will offer different combinations of each in order to attract customers, so it is worth shopping around until you find a deal that suits you.  Most providers can help you to keep your existing mobile phone number, so there is no need to change and there are always free minutes and texts that help you to keep in touch with family and friends.

LG Optimus GT540 Review

The LG Optimus GT540 is the company’s latest attempt at competing in the Android smartphone market, following their previous offering, the inTouch Max GW620.

The new mobile phone is aimed at the middle of the range market, and is perhaps best described as a middle of the road kind of phone.  In terms of appearance, there really is no faulting it – its chassis may be made of plastic but it looks and feels like metal and the curved edges and waved metal which the Call, End/Power and Home buttons sit on makes the thing look very classy indeed.

Unfortunately, in operation the LG Optimus is perhaps somewhat less than ideal.  The touch-screen included is a very resistant one, which is liable to cause considerable frustration; likewise the input keys for the touch-screen are very awkwardly shaped and also difficult to get a handle on.

Aside from the difficulties of the touch-screen operation, this is a fairly standard Android phone.  It runs on operating system version 1.6, which makes it fairly primitive when you compare mobile phones, though still containing the bare essentials.  The 2 GBs of space on the memory card that comes with the phone is definitely more of a step in the right direction.  Elsewhere, it includes fairly standard elements such as a microSD card slot, a headphone socket on the top of the phone, USB charging port and email access.

All in all, the LG Optimus GT540 comes as something of a mixed bag.

LG GB220 Review

The LG GB220, also known as the LG GB220 Kate, is marketed as a budget mobile phone that focuses on the essentials of texting and phoning. LG mobile phones were first launched in 1996, originally only in the Korean market. By 2009, LG was the third largest mobile phone company globally.

The LG GB220 is a relatively cheap mobile phone due to its limited number of applications. It is a small size mobile, with dimensions of 3.54 by 1.85 by 0.64 inches. It features 65k colour TFT display, 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, FM Radio and MP3 player in addition to its phone and text service.

The ease with which the mobile phone can be handled is central to most LG GB220 reviews. The screen of the mobile phone, though small, is bright and clear. Voice quality is acceptable. Dialling, texting and other uses of the keypad are straightforward. The phone, though not stunning to look at, is not ugly either: perfect for a basic, functional piece of equipment that will not turn many heads.

On the down side, despite the clarity of the screen, it looks old compared with newer models, especially touchpad ones. The phone also does not allow for sustained access to the internet and browsing can be frustrating without 3G. The camera is very basic and the resulting picture quality relatively poor.

A current LG GB220 deal is offered by T-Mobile, which offers a Mates Rates Tariff, with the handset costing £29.99.

LG Cookie – now comes in pink!

The LG Cookie is a girl’s phone with the handset coming in an attractive muted shade of pink.  It’s also the first affordable handset if you want a touchscreen phone costing about £100 minus the SIM card, but is free if you take out a monthly contract.

The best deals at the moment are from £7.50 per month at O2, £11.67 per month at T-Mobile, from £15 a month at Talkmobile and from £20 a month at Vodaphone.

The LG Cookie Pink has the appearance of and handles like a mid-range handset but is much cheaper than other touchscreen phones such as the LG Viewty, the Samsung Tocco Lite Pink or the HTC Smart.

The touchscreen interface is simple and walks you through all of the phone’s features, and it allows you to customise the home screen with your favourite widgets.  That way you only have to touch one icon if you want to, for example, play music.  All of the major file formats including MP3, AAC, and AAC+, and WMA files are supported on the phone’s music player.

You can listen to your phone tracks but are limited to using the phone’s earphones as there is no standard 3.5mm headphone jack.

The 3-megapixel camera produces sharp images but only when the lighting is good as there is no built-in flash.  You can also shoot videos on the Cookie and watch the results on the video player in MP4 file format.

LG Pop GD510 Review

LG has created a little gem with the Pop. It is small and one of the lightest touch-screen phones currently on the market and despite its size it still has a 3-inch screen. It is a slim and compact phone that still manages to have a smart design with a brushed plastic aluminium look and black front piece.

The central control face has a single button that has different functions dependant on the screen it is used in. The side has a series of well-placed buttons for altering volume and operating the camera as well as a mini USB port.

The LG Pop is the eco-warrior’s mobile and is designed with green issues in mind. The components used are biohazard free and the packaging is completely recyclable. It is fitted with an audio alarm that indicates when the battery is charged to save on wasting power.

The casing houses a pretty decent 3-megapixel camera and its 8MB internal memory is capable of storing up to 200 mp3 tunes to listen to on the media player. The virtual QWERTY keyboard, when used on landscape, has no major issues but is a little tricky to master at first. One problem is that without the inclusion of Wi-Fi or 3G surfing the internet can be frustratingly slow, while the absence of a 3.5 mm jack is an obvious complaint users will have.

For a budget mobile phone the LG Pop is a good investment, straightforward to use and still stylish. Connectivity may be the only issue that will keep people away but generally it is a phone worth considering.
