Acer Stream Mobile Phone Review
The new Acer Stream mobile phone comes with a 5-megapixel camera and a 3.7-inch touch screen. It runs on the Android 2.1 operating system, with an available update to 2.2.
The Stream makes it easy to skip between menus, web pages, and apps. The large 3.7-inch screen is very easy to type or text on. It also comes with an impressive 2 GB of flash memory, much more than other Android phones such as the HTC Desire. It can be upgraded to 32 GB for increased music and picture storage space, or to increase loading times of other apps.
The Acer Stream also comes with a nemoPlayer media player; which features Dolby sound. Music videos look and sound great, with an attention to detail.
The 5-megapixel camera offers a wide range of effect settings. The camera has digital zoom and includes an anti-shake setting for those shaky hand shots. However, it does not have a flash function, which can make for somewhat blurry pics. As good as the camera is, this is much needed.
Widgets are added to the second layer, which is on top of the main screen. These are accessed by pressing the Home key and the Back key to return. While it looks impressive, switching between layers can get tiresome.
With its large screen, camera, ease of use, and terrific video and sound system, the Acer Stream appears to be Acer’s best phone yet.
